  Haven't stayed at hotel, but have eaten in the tavern next door a number of times. Every time the food has been great, and the view is spectacular! Highly recommended.

  The food in the restaurant was lovely. Nice Sunday roast full of flavour. Beer menu was good (though no draft beer so you have to pick bottled - also no ESB, where's the love for Britain's best style). Staff were great. Restaurant decor is dated, needs a refurbishment or some improvements to help bring it forward in time.

  Beautiful location, truly breathtaking. The rooms are spacious but the decor is aged and uninspired. The bathrooms are, in contrast, modern and functional. The room service food is just passable: heavy, hard to digest sauces to cover tasteless food. The wine selection rather neutral.
  The afternoon tea service was just a bad experience: had to ask twice for a second cup after ordering tea for two (misunderstood or overheard, don't know), the afternoon tea offering was bland and overpriced. Clearly the only attraction is the view, a shame.

  My girlfriend and I enjoyed a great afternoon Tea in the lounge. Fantastic view across the lake. Great service and delicious cakes made it a very pleasant experience.
